Sky Hye is a RL artist bringing her extraordinary work into Second Life. She has a Gallery at the LeeZu! Sim. Her Style is very traditional and very accomplished. Sky is also using Poser, Photoshop and 3D design to create a DVD for Painting Students to learn some of the technical aspects of drawing. Sky has also written a Ballet for real life, and has featured in many high profile exhibitions in RL. She is a teacher but says she is first and foremost an Artist, and an incredible one at that…

This Weeks Tonight Live, DB Bailey Architect,Shannon Oherlihy Folk Singer,P.J Trenton Photographer

DB Bailey is David Denton Architect in RL. He is based in Southern California and first started building in SL about three years ago. Recently his practice has included mostly urban design and virtual design. Not too much architecture to be done these days. David envisions most if not all of his work in the future to be based in the virtual world. Two years ago he was working in collaboration with PUD Consultants in Cairo on a mixed-use project to be built in Egypt. Dr. Amr Attia of PUD Consultants and David decided that despite the size of the project, they would try designing the building in SL. Dr. Attia teaches architecture and planning at Ain Shams University in Cairo. They decided to try having architectural students collaborate in the virtual world. At the same time, President Barack Obama made his famous speech in Cairo, in which he envisioned just such an internet collaboration, what he called the “Kansas to Cairo” project. David linked up with the US Department of State, who is now supporting the project.  Eight students from the University of Southern California School of Architecture are now collaborating with 40 students from Ain Shams University School of Architecture. Some of the students will be meeting each other at a State Department -sponsored event in Washington, DC in early June.

David is also exploring other ways to use the virtual world in urban planning work for community outreach. He was pleased to receive notice that the collaboration among several major universities and the US Library of Congress had selected his work to be included in their permanent collection of early virtual world design.

This week on Tonight Live we talk to Warren Haskins or Brett Dumont as he is known in S.L the founder of HelpPeople Island here in Second Life. He is also chairman of the board for immercio a company he has developed in Second Life to accommodate business needing space to hold meetings or conferences here in Second Life. Warren Haskins is known as the father of the hotel suite industry, he developed a training program in the 1970’s for hospitality staff to provide stellar customer service that dramatically increased sales.Applying his attitudinal approach from thirty years in business, he developed Help People Island in Second Life, an all volunteer organization that services over 800 new residents a day, manned 24/7/365.
