SL7B, Dirty Music & Avatar, You, Me, It?

SL7B does anyone feel like celebrating after this last week? You know? I’d be interested to know how many Second Life residents actually know about the layoffs and care about them? Will the Layoffs affect the Second Life Birthday Celebrations as a result? And…are we celebrating Linden Lab or Second Life? Im not sure about you, but, I tend to think of Second Life as all of us…all of us “residents” that have in-fact built Second Life, with the tools that L.L gave us. If we decide that this celebration is a celebration of Second Life…then thats us isn’t it? In fact its always been us who have contributed to the Second Life birthday celebrations…so why not celebrate?? These questions and more about what is happening this year at SL7B will be answered by two of the organisers this year, Fashion Blogger Harper Beresford and Linden Lab employee Courtney Linden.

Are you one of the people in Second Life that just doesn’t get the whole prim baby talking pregnancy thing? well yes.. I’m one of those as well. Don’t get me wrong I love my own babies…well they are not babies anymore, but maybe not wanting any MORE! precludes me from seeing the whole picture. I also don’t get the whole Mum and Dad family thing here in S.L either…but then I never played the Sims. To explain to us why prim babies and prim pregnancy’s are so popular in SL, and how it all works, Robynnurse Rowlands from Rock a Bye Birthing Centre is joining us this Sunday….with a baby on stage Yikes! I have the cat… now the kid, never work with animals and kids…?

Facebook Privacy, Relay for Life and Rap Music With a Difference!

After a lovely hiatus we are back! What did I do on my hiatus??? well I’d love to say I was lay-zing on a beach lounge reading a great romance novel and getting a massage from a dark handsome honey (Fred!!!!!) …but…well…I did read a romance novel but in my own bed…really I did…and I did lots of paper work, my tax, and went to the dentist, paid bills and went to the Dr…shudder…all the things I’ve been putting off for a rainy day, and in Sydney.. yep its been full on rainy days..sigh..still damn raining! Im so exited to be back (she says punching the air!) I’ve missed you all! we have a new season with some amazing guests and some great ideas so stand by! …..So This Week!

It’s that time of year again, where the American Cancer Society call out to the world to support their efforts in finding a cure for Cancer. Relay for Life has had a huge presence in Second Life every year now, and for good reason, the funds they raise here in SL are among the largest for any recognisable charity event in this virtual world. Cancer touches all of us. I myself went in for a biopsy just 2 weeks ago, and was greatly releived to find out it was just a cyst…but it lead me to think about the ramifications for myself and my family if I had any sort of cancer. Even a seemingly minor form would include at least surgery and scans. Being a terrible hypocondriac with a fear of Dr’s, I imagined all sorts of senarios before getting my results back.. a nervous weeks wait. At my age of 48yrs, anything is possible. Yes, we have all been touched by the fear of cancer, whether in our family, amongst freinds or even our own pets. I think thats why so many people in S.L give their time and money to this cause. This weeks Tonight Live we talk to two of the organisers of RFL in S.L Tayzia Abattoir and Stingray9798 Raymaker to find out what they have in store for us this year. Its not all doom and gloom! The RFL campaign, while having a serious subject matter, can be and often involves a lot of fun, whilst getting the message home.

You are in for a treat with our special music guest this week. Rap Artist Kafka Dinzeo (Mic Rocka a real life Rapper). Kafka (whats that name about…?) will be Rapping for us and showing us some very interesting ideas that he has about his craft. Kafka is allways entertaining when he has a show, and its so00 much more than what you would imagine! Kafka has also incorporated Rap into a story format with the “Tight Rope Short Story Mixed Tape Vol 1″, and he will be taking us through the journey of creating that recording. Toss all your preconceived ideas about Rap out the window! I have.

Privacy on the internet is THE hot  topic right now, all over the world. Facebook’s Mark Zukerburg claims that the modern view of privacy has changed and can never be reversed????…that sounds a little Orwellian to me…but then, Facebook recently did an about Face on their privacy options on our accounts after a HUGE backlash. Was it enough, did it change our trust level of such social network sites? Also.. what is the real problem here? Don’t we have so much of us on the internet now anyway? Dr’s reports, credit cards, addresses, our likes and dislikes through iTunes and Movie sites…is he right? has the horse bolted? What harm can come to us? what should we do? what do we need to be aware of? Can you reverse anything and get your info OFF the Net?

Joel Savard or Joel Foner as he is known in R.L is the facilitator for “We Are The Network” here in SL, and in RL a software Developer amongst many other geeky things…He is going to help us understand what is going on right under our very noses, and if we should be all alarmed or just careful and how to protect ourselves…

Fabulous Fashion Logo Competition $15,000L Prize

We are looking for a brand new logo for Fabulous Fashion with Angie Mornington!

There are so many talented photographers and graphic artists out there and we would love to see what you come up with!

Fabulous Fashion with Angie Mornington is the only fashion talk show filmed in Second Life and broadcast on Treet TV.

It’s time for a brand new logo, one that is stylish, chic, and matches Angie’s fun personality as television host.

We want a logo that fully personifies and represents Fabulous Fashion, which has been in production since October 2008 and is one of the highest rated TV shows in Second Life.

The logo has to be FABULOUS!

Winner receives $15,000L, and permanent on screen credit “Logo Created by…” for the life of the logo.

Your winning logo will be the official Fabulous Fashion Logo which will be televised and seen on air by thousands of viewers every week.

The winning logo will be seen on the Fabulous Fashion website, and in the Fabulous Fashion Studio.

The winning logo will also be used as part of the branding of the show for publicity purposes.

You will be considered for future paid projects for Perfect World Productions.
