Paisley at Hot Sax Jazz Club : The Insane Life of Stuart Warf

Paisley at Hot Sax Jazz Club : The Insane Life of Stuart Warf

What a wonderfull Time I had at the Hot Jazz Club last Friday night. My real life trio, John Conley on Bass and Ray Forster on Piano. I have only been able to bring a trio into SL about 3 or 4 times and the crowd at Hot Jazz was huge…78 people the sim was full. It was sooo nice to see lots of old freinds in the audience, I understand that after a time here on SL its not possible to expect past fans and freinds to come to most of your gigs, and lets face it Jazz has a much smaller audience than Pop or Rock, so its really nice to see people that don’t come to the shows that often. We have been asked to play again at the club early April and I will do my best to get the guys together again to do that. We all play at my house going through my mixing desk and setting up the double bass is allways a bit trickier than a keyboard it is not a naturally electronic instrument. I don’t stream RL gigs into SL Australia’s wireless broadband has its limitations, and I really would feel I was not able to include the SL audience as much as I would like in such a situation. Im far more comfortable streaming from my studio in comfort and so I can focus on my SL audience and create that air of intimacy and interactivity. The exiting thing about playing jazz in its free form is never knowing how you are going to interpret a line..how the others are going to, its immeadiate and never the same. Im going to be learning a few more songs I think the next few weeks I tend to do that in spurts Im afraid, when I get bored of the previous songs. I have over 150 now in my repotoire but thats not enough :) So stay tuned for some more exiting events you will never hear the same line up of song twice on my gigs I challange my self to bringing in new stuff as much as I can for the audience’s interest and my own. If you didn’t make the Hot Jazz club gig, I encourage you to come to our next one you will not hear (in my opinion) a better jazz band in SL, not yet anyway :) it will come….the fantastic competition and I personally cant wait!!!
